So this week was pretty good! It was rainy a lot and hot a lot! We had some good lessons. One of our new investigators is pretty awesome but he loves the bible! He has soooo many questions. But of course I cant understand anything and I dont know the bible very well so its hard! I feel so clueless and useless hahah. My days are getting better each week! We had my first Community service project this week! IT was great! (Ill attach some pics) We just hauled a bunch of broken pieces of concrete into there house and put it on the floor? THey want to elevate their floor? Hhaha idk how its going to work but thats what we did! I got sooo sore after it haha I havent done some serious excerzise in a while! Did I tell you guys that I wash my clothes by hand? HAha its pretty funny and kinda cool actually. All filipinos do it! So I have a lot of good stuff to eat here. Halo-Halo is one of them and its a filipino desert and its delicious! Also They sell this really good ice cold chocolate drink stuff on the street. I love it. I eat chicken neck, squid, and other good and werid stuff haha. THERE ARE SO MANY CATS ROOSTERS AND DOGS HERE. I love scaring them haha its so funny especially the roosters because they are such spazzes and just freak out. The other day we found a monkey!! Hahah it was awesome we fed it all sorts of stuff. I have some new goals for myself. I want to finish the tagalog BOM by my 6 month mark and also Im going to finish my the New Testament by Christmas! SO wish me luck! THe low of my week is that I got super sick on saturday, I threw up twice. It was not fun. I went to church the next day and everyone was so concerned haha, They are so nice I love them. THis one guy even started giving me a massage haha. I did a lot of reading while I was sick. It was really boring though ahah. The language continues to haunt me. Man its sooo hard ahah. I feel so useless and clueless. But I will get it eventually right? I hope so becuase it sucks being the type of person that loves to talk to people but I just cant! Well I hope all is well back in the US. I send my love and prayers!

Love Elder Webb:)

Dear Elders:

Our sincere apologies that Pres. Bertin did something on his iPhone before finished the photo email, so we lost all those wonderful addresses you entered.  SO sorry, but now you can send to your parents, please.

I just want to tell you how sorry we are for the losses you have experienced.  Please let me (us) know if we can help aid you in working out replacements of things — cameras, etc.  We have ALL definitely learned something.  First, that you were all very blessed that no one physically bothered any of you; second, we are very happy that Elder Webb got his suitcase and most of its contents back; and third, most importantly, how careful we all need to be.  Never take a chance, never let your guard down, and never assume ‘someone else’ locked up.  Everyone be vigilant!

Live close to the spirit, be obedient, be careful.  We are thankful, more than you know, to have you here working diligently as missionaries.

We love you, and we are here for you.
Love,
Sister Bertin

First off... I FORGOT MY CAMERA CORD TO SHOW PICTURES THIS WEEK.
Im so so sorry. But Ill make sure to bring it next week so you can see my apartment and some of the things ive been doing.

So I got my new companion, Elder Ravelo and he is Filipino. Hes only been out for 3 months!! So we both still learn a lot. He just turned 19 and he is pretty cool.

Life in the apartment:

Its weird.. Im on my own now.. Food, keeping myself alive, everthing! Its kinda scary haha. there is 4 of us in the apartment. Elder Ravelo and me, Elder Bermoy who is filipino and Elder Christensen who is American obviously. Its pretty fun and they are all good guys. The apartment is pretty small and really hot ahah. We just use fans to keep us cool. We eat a lot of rice obviously.

So my area is in the city of Caloocan. My area is called University Hills. It is crazy. EVERYONE is poor. (except the people in the subdivision) ITs pretty cool to know I have my own investigators and my own area but also scary because everyone here relys on me and my comp. The people here are really cool actually, they are nice and funny. I draw so much attention obvously because Im so handsome and white hahaha. Everyone says "HEY" or "WHATS YOUR NAME" The kids always high five me and stuff. One kid came up and just started punching me in the leg ahaha it was weird. But I love to go out and walk around even though I barely speak and I can barely understand what they say. I just smile haha. Sometimes I can teach a little bit and they inderstand me which is cool but most of the time I just have no clue whats happening. But one thing is that im fearless to just go up to someone and talk in very broken tagalog. I love to do that haha. Yesterday it was raining a lot and its started to flood where we were tracting. I was KNEE DEEP in water haha, It was crazy but also pretty gross cuz its just poop pee and garbge haha, But the natives love it. They go out and shower in the rain and the kids play in the nasty water hahah.

There is some amazing street food and drinks here. I cant wait until you and Harm come out so i can introduce you guys to everything. You guys will LOVE IT. I can tell I have big things here once I just get a hang of everything. Im going to be a big help.

Church was pretty good. 2 of our investigators came and all the people were really nice to me. I also didint understand anything in church it was really annoying but its okay I guess.

But I can tell im going to LOVE my mission once I know how to speak and understand people. RIght now Its annoying and frustrating because I just cant speak and I just cant understand! One thing Ive also realized is that I suck at teaching! Even in english! UGHH it makes me so mad.

LEt me know anyother questions you have about stuff here! Im sure I forgot some stuff

Love your Son ELDER WEBB:)
